Goldberg Variations Variations
J.S. Bach's suite of solo-keyboard compositions was first published in 1741 for harpiscord, but most famously interpreted by Glenn Gould on piano in 1974. Goulds performance is considered a universal musical icon. This performance is the raw source material for a group of artists, like Murcof, Machinefabriek, Max de Wardener, Colleen, Aidan Baker, Aaron Martin, Philip Jeck, Hauschka and Max Richter, who each give a completely new re-interpretation of Bach's baroque masterpiece.
